Download Spectec's printable DIGISPEC RF Pickup Speed Sensors Spec Sheet (PDF format):
Intrinsically Safe digital RF sensors are a derivative or our standard magnetic pickup models and are certified by FM Global to meet requirements of Class I, Zone 0, AEx [ia] IIC, Class I, II, III, Division 1, Group ABCDEFG.
CAUTION: These sensors MUST be installed with an FM Global approved IS barrier. Installations must meet the requirements of intrinsically safe systems for hazardous (classified) locations and must follow details specified in FM Global control drawing 85047.
Intrinsically Safe Digital RF pickups are active sensors driven by an internal modulated carrier signal conditioner with their internal circuits modified for operating in hazardous locations. The digital output of this sensor is directly proportional to the passing of a ferrous or aluminum object by the pickup coil. This change in modulation of the carrier frequency is converted into a square wave pulse by the signal conditioner for computing and/or further processing. DIGISPEC RF pickups have good EMI protection and reverse polarity protection.
DIGISPEC RF flow meter sensors are available in open face design for greater sensitivity or closed face design for greater environmental sealing.
Custom RF pickup sensors or OEM replacement speed sensors available. An internal temperature probe (NTC10, RTD100 or others) is available which is positioned near the face of the sensor.
