Intrinsically Safe digital RF sensors are a derivative or our standard magnetic pickup models are certified by FM Global:

  • Model IS100/IS101 Intrinsically Safe (Class I, Div I / Class I, Zone 0 - code AEx [ia]) for US and Canada
  • Model IS100A/IS101A ATEX Intrinsically Safe (Group II, Category 1G) for European Union
  • Model N100/N101 Non-Incendive/Limited Energy (Class I, Div 2 / Classs I, Zone 2) for US and Canada and ATEX Limited Energy (Group II, Category 3G) for European Union

CAUTION: These sensors MUST be installed with an FM Global approved IS barrier. Installations must meet the requirements of intrinsically safe systems for hazardous (classified) locations and must follow details specified in FM Global control drawing 85047.

Intrinsically Safe Digital RF pickups are active sensors driven by an internal modulated carrier signal conditioner with their internal circuits modified for operating in hazardous locations. The digital output of this sensor is directly proportional to the passing of a ferrous or aluminum object by the pickup coil. DIGISPEC RF pickups have EMI protection and reverse polarity protection.

Available in open face design for greater sensitivity or closed face design for greater environmental sealing.

An internal temperature probe (NTC10, RTD100 or others) is available which is positioned near the face of the sensor.
